Diaconescu talks with his Ukrainian couneterpart about gas

Eurostat: Romania posts highest labour cost rises in Q3

Romania posted 21.2 percent rise in the hourly labour cost in an adjusted from (by the number of weekdays), in the third quarter of 2008 compared to the same period last year, with this being the highest rise recorded in the 27 member states of the European Union, show figures released by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) on Friday. Romania’s trade deficit rises to 19.19 billion euros January through October 2008

Romania’s FOB-CIF trade deficit advanced by RON 70.013 billion (19.196 billion euros) in the first ten months of 2008, exceeding by RON 13.009 billion (1.937 billion euros) the deficit one year before, according to preliminary estimates of the National Statistics Institute (INS). Read more

Emil Boc: We have not reached an agreement with PNL on the PM seat

Head of the Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L) Emil Boc said Saturday that his party and the National Liberal Party (PNL) could not agree, during negotiations, on the PM seat and pointed out that the mandate of a possible coalition with the Liberals would stretch on a 4-year period and did not targeted the presidential elections due in 2009.

Project company to build units 3 and 4 of Cernavoda n-power plant to be established in March 2009

The project company to carry out a project for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at the Cernavoda nuclear-power plant will be set up in March 2009. On Thursday, an investor’s agreement was initialled for the establishment of EnergoNuclear SA, the project company, which will build, commission and operate units 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda n-power plant. Initialling the agreement were officials of the Nuclearelectrica National Corporation and six investors – ArcelorMittal, CEZ, GDF SUEZ, ENEL, Iberdrola and RWE Power, in the presence of Romanian Minister of Finance and Economy Varujan Vosganian.
