Longest letter to Santa Clause reaches destination
December 30, 2008
The longest letter ever sent to Santa Clause, written by more than two thousand children from Brasov (central Romania) and posted on December 20, reached destination, that is Santa’s home in Rovaniemi, Lapland (Finland).
The letter was handed to Santa Clause by a delegation of two children from Romania and representatives of the Romanian Post. Santa was impressed by the gesture of the children and wrote a few words back, to thank them for their effort to save the earth’s forests, with the slogan in the letter being: ‘Saving the Forests You Save Our Childhood.’
For no less than eight days, 2,110 children from eight secondary schools from Brasov wrote at the letter to Santa Clause, which in the end weighted 112 kilos, measured 413.80 m in length and covered 99.31 sq m, having been certified by the representative of the World Records Academy to Romania.
The record hit in Brasov will be included with the World Records to appear in January 2009. AGERPRES
