Romania will receive European funds in advance for 2007-2009 worth a total 1.82 billion euros, with the bulk of this amount or 768.52 million euros representing the advance for 2009 alone, the European Commission announced on Thursday.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) condemns the terror attacks in Mumbai that reportedly killed over 100 people and left 300 wounded, reads a MAE release on Thursday.

‘We hope the hostages will be released as soon as possible, without any more victims. We convey our condolences and compassion to the victims’ families and wish quick recovery to the wounded. According our information, there are no Romanian citizens among victims,’ the release reads.

The ForMin voiced concern over the escalating violence and increased frequency of terror attacks in India, the world’s most numerous democracy, and sent the country’s government a solidarity message. AGERPRES
