Romanian unit of EUMM Georgia to depart for Tbilisi

The Romanian unit of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) will leave today for Tbilisi. EUMM will be launched on September 26, 2008, in accordance with the decisions of the EU member states that materialised in a Join Action approved by the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC) on September 15, reads a press release issued by the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) on Tuesday. Irish President Mary McAleese began, early on Tuesday, a state visit to Romania. A ceremony of the official reception by President Traian Basescu took place at Cotroceni presidential Palace.
