Steaua defeats Galatasary, advances to Champions League group stage

Steaua Bucharest football club on Wednesday defeated Turkey’s Galatasary Istanbul 1-0 in the second leg of the preliminary round of the Champions League, advancing to the group stage.

The only goal of the fixture was scored by Banel Nicolita, in minute 57. The first leg played in Istanbul ended in a 2-2- draw.

Steaua has thus managed to advance to the Champions League group stage for the third consecutive time.

The group stage fixtures will be decided on Thursday night, at a draw in Monte Carlo. AGERPRES
