Dozens of documents belonging to the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and to certain structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administrative Reform (MIRA) were found on Wednesday, thrown away on the shore of the Danube – Black Sea Canal and of the lake Siutghiol.
The Deputy-Commander of the Constanta County Police Inspectorate, Head-Commissar Adrian Ropotan declared yesterday, quoted by Realitatea TV, that he has appointed a team of police officers, members of the Internal Safety Department, in order to check these documents, due to be decoded and sorted out. According to Ropotan, the documents were issued during the 90s and represent no danger to the safety of the state or of the citizens. Yet, he mentioned that those documents include organized crime investigation reports and other police investigations during 1992-1996 and the fact that a private person was storing them is a serious issue.
“A qualified team has started an investigation in order to check the data presented in these documents. They established that these documents were kept by a former police officer who died in 2005, and that these documents are part of the internal usual police paperwork, and they cannot affect the safety of the state,” a press release issued by the Constanta Police Inspectorate announces.
