Current account deficit, 16.872 billion euros in 2007

The current account of the balance of payments reached a deficit of 16.872 billion euros in 2007, mainly due to the deficit of the trade balance, which stood at 17.586 billion euros, up 49.6 percent from 2006, according to an announcement on Thursday by the Central Bank (BNR).
