Catalin Avramescu, state counselor with the Presidential Chancellery

Journalist Catalin Avramescu was appointed state counselor with the Chancellery of Romania’s President Traian Basescu
He has taken the position on Thursday evening according to the presidential administration’s website.
Thus, Catalin Avramescu has taken one of the positions that remained vacant after Enela Udrea and Stana Anghelescu quit.
Avramescu was born on July 12, 1967, in Mizil locality of Pahova county. He graduated from the Bucharest university and took his doctor’s degree in philosophy. As of 2005 he has been lecturer with the Faculty of Political Sciences of Bucharest, teaching political thinking, political philosophy and ethics.
He is member of the Group for Social Dialogue . He was editorialist of Cotidianul daily and since 2007 he has been editorialist with Bursa daily and head of the the series ‘Fundamental political ideas,’ issued by Nemira publishing house. ROMPRES
