Approximately 600 Romanian citizens are still in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs in a release remitted Friday to Rompres Agency.
According to information provided by Romania’s Embassy in Sofia, Thursday evening approx. 600 Romanian citizens were still in Bulgaria, after a significant number succeeded to leave on Thursday afternoon through Ruse border crossing point.
The Romanian citizens still in Bulgaria are safe. Those remained in Stara Zagora - Kazanlac, Tar Kaloian and Pleven region are accommodated in the respective localities and can benefit, if needed, by medical assistance. The group close to Razgrad found shelter in a gas station, the release stressed.
Romania’s Embassy in Bulgaria continues its interventions with the local services of civil protection in order to solve as soon as possible the Romanian citizens’ situation who were blocked in traffic. The Bulgarian authorities gave assurances they will continue snow clearing operations, estimating their finalization on Friday, so that the Romanian citizens’ groups can be evacuated to Ruse cross border point.
Representatives of Romania’s Embassy to Sofia are steadily in connection with the contact persons from the Romanian citizens’ groups, informing them upon the new evolutions and take every necessary steps to help them, MAE release also shows. ROMPRES
