No wild bird found dead in the Danube Delta

No wild bird was found dead in the Danube Delta, lately, during the check-ups local authorities were conducting after the bird flu virus was signaled in Murghiol village, in Tulcea County (south-eastern Romania).

The information was supplied by Tulcea County’s Prefect Office, saying that environment agents of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation (DDBR) were already given plastic gloves and bags to collect dead wild birds in the Delta.

Vets have been collecting poultry samples from the local farms, Murghiol village’s mayor Filip Ivanov said.

The campaign for the locals’ immunization goes on in neighboring villages such as Sarinasuf, Plopu and Dunavatu.

After a couple of fowls in a farm in Murghiol village died on Nov 28, the National Sanitary-Veterinary Authority for Food Safety confirmed the bird flu virus in the farm. ROMPRES
