Romania takes over Baltic airspace mission from France

Starting today till October 31st, four MiG-21 Lancer aircrafts of the Romanian Air Force are going to secure the airspace of the three Baltic states – Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia within `Baltica 07` mission.
The Ministry of Defence specifies that the main task of the Romanian troop is to assure the air police service under NATO peace time command meant to fully secure the denoted airspace.
Romania succeeds France into this mission and will be replaced by Portugal in three-months time, RADIO ROMANIA ACTUALITATI reports.
