Vodafone Romania reaches 7.7 million clients

The number of Vodafone clients in Romania reached 7.7 million as the country remains the main engine of growth for the company in Eastern Europe, a company press release says. It adds that Vodafone Romania reported an organic income growth of 29.7% in the fourth quarter of 2006, compared to the same period in 2005. Read more

Billionaire Bill Gates, co-founder and chairman of Microsoft Co., arrived late on Wednesday in Bucharest, by a private plane, which landed on Baneasa Airport at 7 p.m. Bill Gates’ visit to Romania comes in recognition of the development of the Romanian IT market and industry, General Manager of Microsoft Romania Silviu Hotaran told Rompres. Iraq authorities formulated no accusation against the two Romanian citizens taken into custody yet

Romanians Adrian Gancean and Nelu Ilie were taken into custody by the Military Police of the U.S., because they were caught on Oct. 31,2006 filming at a military base in Iraq, the preliminary investigations are still underway and no official accusation has been made as yet, spokesperson for the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) Corina Vintan told a press conference on Wednesday.
