The Cabinet of Bucharest allocated five million lei for the festivities of the New Year`s Eve

The Cabinet has allocated five million lei for the organization of cultural events on the evening and night of 31-st December, the longest night of the year, when we all celebrate the coming in of the New Year. Besides being the New Year`s Eve, 1 January 2007 is the moment when Romania becomes a member of the European Union.

Cabinet Minister of Culture Adrian Iorgulescu told news media that the celebration starts with the ` white night of museums ` as museums are to be opened on 30 December from early morning to midnight and access of the public is free of charge.

On 31-st December the Banner of the European Union is to be hoisted in front of the Headquarters of the Government of Bucharest and in front of the Headquarters of all local councils in all main cities of the 4o counties of Romania.

The New Year`s Eve party begins in Piata Revolutiei during the evening and has among guests Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu and numerous officials from all over Europe, reports RADIO ROMANIA ACTUALITATI.
