Joint Exercise at the Romanian – Bulgarian border

December 29, 2006

As both countries become members of the European Union there will be no more passport control on both sides of the border nor will there be customs control unless the case is justified.

For instance for those persons that exit Romania documents are shown on the Bulgarian side and for those persons that enter Romania documents are shown in Romania in the presence of custom officers and border police of both states, reports RADIO ROMANIA ACTUALITATI.

Starting 1 January 2007 Passports are no longer necessary to exit or enter either country for nationals of any of the two states, however, IDs have to be shown and they are checked, as customary, adds the main news station of our national news network.
